Giving thanks

Sorry for the delay in posting, but Mom and Dad were off work for the past week and a half and we've been busy doing lots of fun things. Starting off with Thanksgiving. For the first time ever, Henry and I were completely healthy during the Thankgiving holiday. No holiday weekend trips to the pediatrician, at long last!

Henry and I had hoped to go into the city the night before to watch the parade balloons get inflated, but the weather didn't cooperate. No matter. We drove to Grandma and Grandpa's on Thanksgiving morning, wearing the Thanksgiving hats that I had made at school. I was a Native American, and Henry was a turkey!

We had such a great time with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Jess. And I did silly things there, like put curlers in Henry's hair.

Here's a video of some of the Thanksgiving highlights, including me saying what I was thankful for this year, us getting ready to drive to Grandma and Grandpa's and best of all, a look at us watching the Thanksgiving Day parade on TV and kicking along with the Rockettes.

There's much more to come from our trip, check back tomorrow!

Advent adventure

Advent starts Sunday, so Mom, Dad, Julia and I went to the church hall to make this year's advent wreath. More accurately, Julia and I did most of the work, while I ran around.

But I did help a little bit. Look: I held onto the berries!

I also helped put the candles in when Mom and Julia were done.

Doesn't it look great?

And here's a video of all our hard work.

Most importantly, Julia and I hope you all have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Strange Brew

Because that freak blizzard canceled our Halloween parade, Mom and Dad never had a chance to see Henry and I sing all the Halloween songs we had prepared for that special day. So, over the weekend, I treated Dad to a little glimpse of what he missed: that Halloween parade staple, "Witches Brew." Henry, who was still eating breakfast during my performance, chimed in a bit too:

A sense of Adventureland

For our last post of the week, Henry and I are continuing to dust off old photos and videos that fell through the cracks during our busy September. Today we wanted to share two theme park visits we made during that month. First, we went to Adventureland in Long Island, where we spent the day with our friends Audrey and Carl.

Our favorite ride this year was the kiddie log flume. Henry went for the first time, and while we got soaked, we both loved every second of it. You can see it in this video of the day's highlights. See how I cover my eyes going down the hill? I asked Dad if it was okay if I did that, and he said yes.

We also made a return trip to Victorian Gardens in Central Park before they closed it down and prepared to turn it back into an ice skating rink for the winter. Here Henry and I are on the boat.

While Henry and I still loved the roller coaster as much as we did during our first visit, Henry apparently developed a fear of the bouncing frog ride over the summer. Check this out:

Have a great weekend everyone!

Making a list...

I think Julia started her Christmas list six months ago. She's been writing down everything she sees, and I think she's up to 120 items now (including things like "invisible power"), even though Dad keeps telling her she can only ask for 3 things. If she can do it, why not me? I've been looking through the various catalogs that have been arriving in the mail lately and making my Christmas picks. Take a look
